Culture Clash Magazine
Policies & Terms
Last Updated: October 9, 2026
Culture Clash Magazine is an independent publication rooted in Galveston, Texas. We value local voices, creative expression, and the community that makes this island what it is. The following policies outline how we handle purchases, refunds, advertising, submissions, and use of our website.
By purchasing from, submitting content to, advertising with, or using the Culture Clash Magazine website, you agree to the applicable policies below.
1. Refund & Return Policy
Culture Clash Magazine is an independent publication, and every purchase helps support our continued work with local artists, writers, photographers, businesses, and the Galveston community.
Magazine Sales & Merchandise
All magazine issue, merchandise, and other physical product sales are considered final. We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change of mind, accidental purchases, or dissatisfaction with editorial content.
However, we want every customer to receive what they paid for. We will review refund or replacement requests in the following circumstances:
-
Damaged or defective items: If your magazine or merchandise arrives damaged or defective, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order information and photos of the issue.
-
Incorrect orders: If you receive the wrong item, contact us within 14 days of delivery so we can arrange an appropriate replacement or refund.
-
Lost or undelivered orders: If an order does not arrive within the stated delivery timeframe, contact us so we can investigate and determine an appropriate resolution.
-
Canceled or unavailable orders: If we cannot fulfill an order, we will notify you and provide a refund for the unfulfilled purchase.
-
Duplicate charges or billing errors: Verified duplicate charges and incorrect charges will be corrected or refunded as appropriate.
-
Approved refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method. Processing times may vary depending on your payment provider.
Subscriptions & Recurring Payments
If Culture Clash Magazine offers subscriptions or recurring memberships, cancellation will stop future renewal charges. Unless otherwise stated at checkout, payments for a subscription period that has already begun are nonrefundable, and access will continue through the end of the paid period.
If a subscription issue or benefit cannot be delivered, we will review the circumstances and provide an appropriate resolution, which may include a replacement, extension, or refund.
Digital Products & Content
Purchases of digital products, downloadable content, or paid digital access are generally final once the content has been delivered or access has been granted. Exceptions may be made for duplicate charges, technical issues that prevent access, or content that was paid for but not provided.
Advertising, Sponsorships & Custom Services
Advertising placements, sponsored content, promotional packages, and other custom services are subject to the terms agreed upon in the applicable proposal, invoice, insertion order, or service agreement.
Once work has begun, payments may be nonrefundable to account for time, planning, production, design, and other work already completed. If Culture Clash Magazine cancels a placement or cannot deliver an agreed-upon service, we will work with the client on an appropriate resolution, which may include rescheduling, a replacement placement, a credit, or a refund for the undelivered portion.
Any separate written agreement will govern where it provides specific cancellation or refund terms.
How to Request a Refund
To request a refund, replacement, or order resolution, contact Culture Clash Magazine using the contact information listed on our website. Include your name, order number, purchase date, and a brief description of the issue. Photos or other supporting information may be requested when relevant.
We review requests individually and aim to respond within five business days. This response timeframe is an estimate, not a guarantee of resolution within that period.
Nothing in this policy limits any refund or cancellation rights that may apply under federal or Texas law.
2. Advertising Policy
Culture Clash Magazine works with local businesses, artists, organizations, and community partners to share stories and promote opportunities throughout Galveston and the surrounding area.
All advertising placements are subject to availability, editorial standards, production requirements, and the terms agreed upon at booking.

-
Advertisers must have the necessary rights and permissions to use any supplied text, photographs, artwork, logos, or other materials.

Advertisements must comply with applicable laws and must not contain deceptive, misleading, or unlawful claims.
-
Culture Clash Magazine reserves the right to decline or remove advertising that conflicts with our standards, legal obligations, or publication requirements.
-
Publication dates, placement, and promotional deliverables will be communicated as part of the applicable agreement.
-
Payment deadlines and cancellation terms are governed by the applicable invoice, proposal, or advertising agreement.
Advertising does not guarantee editorial coverage, a positive review, or a particular audience response. Unless explicitly identified otherwise, advertising should not be interpreted as an endorsement by Culture Clash Magazine.
3. Editorial Independence
Culture Clash Magazine is committed to independent storytelling and creative expression.
Advertisers, sponsors, contributors, and community partners do not automatically receive editorial control over our coverage. Paid advertisements and sponsored content may be identified as such where appropriate.
We reserve the right to determine editorial topics, story selection, headlines, layout, and final publication decisions.
