When Brian and Kristen Lepo bought the Albatross Bar in 2011, they had no idea they were starting an empire. The purchase of the Island Pier Club was soon to follow and now with development of their third bar, the Lepos have struck gold!

The building at 4302 Ave S was acquired in February 2020, the first sign of good luck. A one year lease was in place with the then current tenant, Hard Times & Misery Saloon. One year later, in March of 2021 the building was gutted and completely remodeled with new plumbing, sewer, electrical, insulation, and more.

Open late March 2022, Bar 43 was born of the desire to create a comfortable neighborhood space for central Galveston. The newly revived venue is classic but not pretentious. The modern tones and clean lines along with the tailored bar menu and signature drink, Elixir 43, make Bar 43 a new local favorite. Patrons and neighbors can enjoy classic cocktails, longneck bottles, chart toping jukebox hits, two different pool tables in either of the two designated areas, and entertainment, with more to come.
