La Izquierda Fest 2024
Galveston’s Surf and Music Festival goes Galactic
Beach Central, 2102 Seawall Blvd., Galveston, Texas 77550
May 3rd, 4th, and 5th, 2024
Mark your May the 4th weekend for La Izquierda Surf and Music Fest, aka La Izzy Fest, making its grand return to Beach Central, Galveston, TX, this May 3rd-5th. A stellar lineup of musical guests bring a constellation of the different genres and sounds of the third coast while the waves sport surfers competing for prizes in longboarding and SUP.
This family-friendly surf competition and musical event features activities all weekend long, fabulous food trucks and vendors, an art market with curated makers offering their creations, and Galveston Island Brewing keeping the beer taps flowing. The "May the 4th be with you" theme nods to the cosmic adventures that await our festival-goers with space-surf themed VIP spaceship areas, costume contest, and out-of-this-world good times.
Free Locals Friday, May the 3rd
6 PM-11 PM
La Izzy continues the tradition of opening our doors early to welcome in the local islanders who keep the party going year round for a night of free music to kick off the weekend. Island favorites DEM Roots will be hosting a Reggae takeover to bring you a select list of local and regional reggae artists to launch the first night of the festival.
Saturday May the 4th
10 AM - 11 PM
La Izzy Fest kicks off Saturday on the beach stage with live music and surf spectacle. Start your morning with a free yoga class on the sand, and try a sandcastle-building workshop, or chill with a beer in the shade of the art market area. Music will bounce between the beach stage and the main stage throughout the day.
Sunday May the 5th
10 AM - 7 PM
The final day of La Izzy Fest brings the return of Houston hip-hop legend Bun B as well as Galveston’s own Tanya Nolan and more. We’ll celebrate the winners of our surf contest and continue the flow of good vibes. Activities for all ages on the beach and in the fest grounds offer art experiences, movement, and deep chilling.
